Clients & Treatment Methods
Beverly knows that starting counseling can feel intimidating—it takes courage to take this step. Too often, the stresses and traumas of life get in the way of who we want to become. She believes her role is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can find hope, healing, and growth.
Beverly works with both adults and teens who may be struggling with challenges such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, or relationship difficulties. For some, those struggles are connected to painful past experiences, including trauma. Beverly specializes in walking alongside individuals who are recovering from harmful relationships, high-control environments, or religious trauma.
Beverly also offers an online Eight-week Religious Trauma Recovery Group (NC Telehealth) twice per year. Please reach out for upcoming dates and details.
Beverly’s therapeutic approach is attachment-based and trauma-informed, tailored to the unique needs of each person. Clients often describe her style as warm, engaging, and compassionate, with a touch of humor. If faith is an important part of your life, she will be happy to integrate that perspective into your sessions. She also recognizes that for many, faith may feel complicated or painful—particularly for those who have been hurt by religion. Beverly will always respect your beliefs and meet you where you are.
Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to go through it alone—your story matters, and Beverly will be honored to walk with you as you move toward healing.
Personal Interests
Outside of the therapy room, Beverly enjoys reading, gardening, baking, and catching up with friends over coffee. She has a deep love for travel and experiencing different cultures—some of her favorite destinations include Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Japan, India, France, Switzerland, and Mexico. She also cherishes spending time in the mountains with her family, where they slow down and reconnect.
Beverly and her husband have called Charlotte home for the past eighteen years, raising three teenagers here. They’re navigating the busy seasons of life with one child in college, one in high school, and one in middle school. Their youngest has special needs, which has given their family a unique perspective and deepened their appreciation for resilience and grace.
